From Illusion to Elysium

From pottery of the poet to the quandary of the philosophers, love has always been an unsolved and unfounded riddle. Though many acclaimed it to be evident at some point in life, some believe it to be dependent on karma. Our journey of exploration for the love commences even before we know it. But the fact is we start practicing it unknowingly before we desire to seek. And the irony is that we spend whole life searching for it when we are actually living with it.

Our limited knowledge and worldly pleasure misguide us throughout life. The fact is that invisible dynamic energy which holds us together on this earth – gravity, air, wind, thoughts, beliefs, desires, wishes, etc. is actually love. These things surround us and make us what we are. Synonymously, the energy flowing inside us inferred as soul, is what drives the human anatomy. We often become deluded by an illusionary societal life depiction and engrossed ourselves in search of some external being rather than exploring what lies inside being.

As per our ancient philosopher Aristophanes:

“When a person meets the half that is his very own, something wonderful happens: the two are struck from their senses by love, by a sense of belonging to one another, and by desire, and they don’t want to be separated from one another, not even for a moment. These are people who finish out their lives together and still cannot say what it is they want from one another”

Well, this sounds magical and alluring. Could be true for some but extremely temporary. Since we are the dynamic beings living in a dynamic environment with the dynamic energy flowing inside us, we cannot remain stagnant at one place, with the same thought and with the same power. Everything is continuously flowing, therefore, with time as life discover its new meaning so do love. Love is not just limited to a physical attraction or worldly desire, it is beyond that. Even if you experienced its best version externally it doesn’t last forever. The concept of “soulmate,” is outdated and as we entered into this new traumatic era, we realize it cannot be found or achieved but rather it is a deeply scripted feeling within us which become stronger when we put incessant attention and concentration to enlighten it.

A non-existential, non-healer, non-desirous but more mundane is what love is. It is painful and troublesome which teaches us to learn and accept pain. Embracing pain is a true form of love and the effort, time and diligence you put in awakening your soul is the true love which will take you to the Elysium before death – a permanent state of true happiness and peace (other words for true love). Where you will be loved all the time and can sense love even in the clothes you wear; the trees will smile at you as you pass by, the wind will kiss your soul and you will feel blessed in every way.

Soul Calling

Pushing Away Paradoxical Mores

Well, feeling traumatized for not putting on heavy eye-lashes and concealer is something conspicuous these days. After all, this is the way we love to contemplate ourselves in the mirror – glamourous, hot, gorgeous, and sexy. During all these years, we have made a stereotypic image which is more appealing in mirrors than in general. Interestingly, the day mirrors were invented was the day when millions of people taken off their true virtue of being.

The picture which we hold today is not what we are, but what society demands. The eruption of glamourous networking sites – tik-tok, Instagram, facebook have made us overly conscious and obsessed. It’s extremely difficult to accept ourselves without a hairdo or a skin tint. Well, this is not something to feel offended about because this is what our generation has seen.

Credence, contentment and pleasure have always been seen as the steps towards success while a feeling of resentment, irritation, and displeasure has been deeply scripted as a surly aspect in the society. Although both feelings are like flowing waves, we camouflage negative by self-loathing and being dramatic, and always shout-out for positive.

”No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up and never give up” But why? It’s okay to feel low, it’s okay not to be okay.

Society has designed us to see everything perfect in life, even though nothing is perfect. It never was still, we are brawling to make it perfect. The perfect is “illusionary”. Why we have to look good always? Why there is a need to lose or gain weight? Why live as per the trend? Why can’t we stop pushing ourselves and just accept the way we are?

It’s tough, no matter how hard we practice not to think we end but thinking tons of thoughts. This health pandemic has given us a chance to unravel the hidden psychological epidemic too, which was there in the society since long. The thing which we were not able to do ourselves this pandemic has made us do. A true test – to be happy with your inner selves as all these years we have been breeding on social image and living in a fantasy.

I would like to share an anecdote before you start pondering into your thoughts:

Ages ago in the Nepal Himalayan, there lived a great king who was expecting a son. Like any other father, he had a plan in place to make his child’s life perfect that he will never resent and lack anything. The walls around the palace built high so that the prince can never sense the suffering and miseries that come with life. As planned, he was bombarded with gifts, food and servants. His every whim was served throughout his childhood. But in spite of all grandeur, the prince became browned off and all lavishness felt a void and worthless because no matter what his father gave him, seemed meaningless to him.

One spooky night, the prince crept out of his palace to see the world behind walls. He took the help of one of his servant and made an entry into the village. His eyes got stunned and his world got shattered seeing the homeless diseased people and the pain for the first time in his life. Somehow, carrying this feeling of sorrow, he managed to return to the palace and vetting on the things he had seen. He couldn’t sleep that night and as young blood, he ended up blaming his father for his idea of a perfect meaningless life.

Later that day, he decided to discern all his royalty, comforts, and wealth and run off to spend the rest of his life on the streets. After years of luxury, he starved on the street till death experienced pain, disease, loneliness and sadness in order to awaken his insight. A few years went by and he realized that nothing has happened and these sufferings were not revealing any mystery or ultimate purpose of life. As with everybody, suffering is indeed painful.

Perplexed, he cleaned himself and thought of giving a purpose to sufferings. He started his journey in search of the gigantic tree near a river, where he can sit and dwell more deeply to evaluate the life’s purpose. With the confused mind, he kept on inspecting the purpose within himself and without knowing he spent forty-nine days under the tree, sitting, thinking without any desire.

Ultimately, he realized that: life and pain complement each other and that life is suffering and happiness is a problem. Rich has problems with their riches. Poor has a problem with their poverty. Lonely has a problem because of his loneliness. The family have a problem because of their family. People who have everything are in pain. People who don’t have anything are still in pain.

Pain cannot be calibrated but it is the ultimate truth. Therefore, don’t resist it, accept it, as the pain has the power to liberate comfort and consistent happiness. Years after, the awakenings which he experienced left a great remark on the world and even today the prince is recognized and worshipped by the name “Buddha”.

Time to transform ourselves by removing the social frame, so that we can see clearly what lies deep inside us.

Are Your Withdrawals More Than Your Deposits?

Just like placing a bucket below the leaky faucet is temporary. Similarly, managing the financial stats without concern is elusive. However, nowadays host of promotional offers are available to enjoy withdrawals more than any time in the history.

“Don’t fear, your deposits are covered, let us help you live your dreams”

If we analyze the broader picture, throughout life we crush ourselves to have a financial peace so that it will last nearly as long as we live, if not than nearly as long as we work.

Indeed, our deposits are covered and our financial withdrawals are manageable but what about our emotional withdrawals and deposits, which start from the day we step into this world? The amount of trust and the feeling of safety with another human being.

Do we invest as much as we should in our relationships? Do we make the difference in people’s life or busy mending own? Are we making more withdrawals by neglecting, disobeying, disrespecting or showing lack of concern or making great deposits by loving, caring and encouraging others?

We come with the balance zero, which gradually start filling as we grow and make relations. The relationships in life are like bank account, where you keep your treasures make deposits and withdrawals. Even if we want or not, we are constantly making deposits or withdrawals through our deeds and actions. If we keep making withdrawals, the account become deficit and we may become bankrupt. However, if we continue making deposits, it will grow fuller and stronger.

“What you put in will determine what you get back in return” by Earl Nightingale

Many prodigies with their experience have proclaimed that no matter what you do your real investment would only be worthy if your intentions are self-less and mutual with your partners. Your feeling and emotional state underlines your positive intentions and the ability to express one’s own feelings and convictions balanced with consideration for the thoughts and feelings of others, is what emotional maturity is, as said by Hrand Saxenian.

However, the irony is that the law of nature can sense the feelings and intentions much before our brain can decode. In majority of the situations, our brain deceive us in ambiguous ways that it becomes difficult to sense our feelings and believe our conscience. And that’s when unknowingly we make big withdrawals. But the important thing is to learn and realize with each withdrawal so that the next time you end up making more deposits than withdrawals.

So, who is the one who decides what are withdrawals and deposits?

It’s you, your conscience, intentions and feelings. However, as said by Stephen Covey, many times “unclear expectations can undermine our communication and trust”. Expectations can result in disappointments and obsessions limiting us to experience the reality but they are unavoidable. Therefore, acceptance and adjustment of thoughts works magically in the law of universe.

Be grateful for what you have and you will end up having more” by Rhonda Byrne

The art of living can’t be won in one day. Your account will remain there even if you depart from this world. Hence, take little steps each day and invest your energy in making valuable deposits in terms of blessings. Be thankful for what you have as many times you have to let go of the things even if you don’t want to because they are destined to be like this, unexplained and perfect in their own way.

Embrace Life as It is!

She had been ill for ages, unbeknownst to the humanity

With a small whimper, she knocked on every door, not for help but to warn.

That you might land into an era, where you don’t realize what day it is?

For you to remain indulge either in moaning or digging out the reason for living.

What day is it?

At the crack of dawn, she crept through the sea of a vibrant, emerald green path, pushing past bushy trees and brightly colored petals. Her ears were filled with the divine sound of hummingbirds and parrots, greeting each other with their morning chirps. Happily, she twirled on the green bed waving a hand to the playing clouds. A wonderful fragrance of holy land felt so clean and fresh. Gradually, the daylight had begun to drain away and as she approached the sky, her eyes caught sight of an extraordinary sparkling and dancing river which bounced angelically across the rocks under the moon-light sky. Sounds of the forest were like harmonious melodies echoing through the jungle, making her fall asleep to begin again with an angelic hymn.

This was her early life which became compromised by the self-serving venomous species called humanity. They poisoned her atmosphere, contaminated her reservoir, sabotaged her vegetation and tried to knocked-down her identity effortlessly, which she all gave them for free. Despite all this, she warned and signalled million times which they disregarded million times. Amazingly, she stymied the time not to harm but to heal. Unfortunately, the imbecile mankind still sobs for the suffering and loss which was his deeds of being ignorant to his self-loathe deadly vicious circle.

So, what day it is?

Would you believe, this question persists because of disillusioned performance of mankind? Either pre- or post-pandemic, humanity had been upending and mourning on his own reality since ages.

Over the past two mercurial months of this pandemic, many minds have posed the questions “What has happened to the world”, “Why does this happen”, “Where it will end”, “How long we have to carry on like this”….

I know “I am not the only victim”, “it’s so boring staying at home” goes the meme.

While we lament this situation how can we forget that the pre-pandemic time, where we used to complain “where does the time go?, it’s racing too fast…same old office routine – 5 days a week we work like a donkey and wait for weekends to come. I wish I could do work from home and spend time with family. This isn’t a life, too stressful, highly demanding and extremely unfair sometimes. As we were busy in winning the incessant race we forgot the meaning of “quality life”, filling space with worry and desperate hope in achieving the illusionary future.

And we don’t know what day it is?

Clock is ticking now is the time where life is stagnant, no more rushing to office, no more tiring days and no more monotonous life. We are caged but not our souls. How can we forget that except corona terror, this is what we actually wanted? However, everything comes with a clause and this is for the realization not for disorganization.

This time is a gift to design your day the way you want, to be grateful for the things we have, to make memories with loved ones, to meditate, to exercise, to make new goals and many more. However, our life’s surrounded by all these granular things which matter to us, we should not forget the reason for our living.

There are millions of reasons I could think of however, at present one that came into my mind is to re-wire our brains, our living strategies and our luxuries in serving her “our mother earth”. Since she has been healing herself now, so we need to make sure that once we move out of our cage, our activities should portray all act of kindness and love towards our Earth.

Let’s not be the greatest threat to the Earth and Life on the planet, but to be the Champion and the reason for the Happy Mother Earth.

A tribute to Mother Earth on the Mother’s Day
